Negotiation of network agreements occurs regularly between insurance companies and providers and often work out at the very last moment. For the first time this year a hospital system (Wellstar) and an insurance company (Kaiser Permanente) could not work out their differences and their relationship was severed. With that in mind, we feel that our clients should be notified that this same inability to agree may occur between Coventry Healthcare and Tenet Health System. If both parties cannot agree on terms, severing of the relationship would occur on October 28, 2010. We will keep you informed as we get closer to that date and let you know if anything is resolved between these parties.
